Context
MetLife is a global insurance and financial services company that offers solutions to help individuals and businesses navigate life’s uncertainties. The application was designed to simplify the reimbursement process for users.
Objective
The goal was to simplify the reimbursement process for users, making it easy and intuitive. As the project evolved, the business team introduced new features, and the challenge was to incorporate them into the app without compromising consistency, while staying aligned with MetLife’s global brand guidelines.

Solution
Together with the design team, we developed new navigation flows, always keeping the user at the center and supporting our decisions through research. New components were added to the design system and carefully documented, ensuring full alignment with MetLife Global guidelines (design.metlife.com). Whenever new flows were proposed, we conducted user testing to gather key insights into user behavior. Thanks to these improvements, app downloads increased significantly, making it the most widely used insurance app in Chile.

UX UI Design
UX UI Design
I worked on designing new screens and defining navigation flows, balancing business requirements with user needs to ensure a seamless and intuitive experience.

Design System
Design System
I collaborated on the maintenance and ongoing development of MetLife’s design system, working in Figma to ensure visual consistency and alignment with global brand standards. My responsibilities included creating and documenting new UI components and patterns, managing design tokens (colors, typography, spacing, etc.), and ensuring scalability across platforms. I also worked closely with developers to maintain design-to-code consistency, improving collaboration and speeding up the product development cycle. This contributed to a more efficient design workflow and a cohesive user experience across the app.

Prototyping
I created an interactive prototype in Figma and integrated it with Maze to conduct user testing on the newly designed Home screen. The goal was to evaluate how real users interacted with the updated layout and navigation. The prototype allowed us to gather valuable quantitative and qualitative insights, which were then analyzed with the design and product teams. Based on these findings, we made informed design adjustments before handing off the final version to the development team, ensuring a more effective and user-validated implementation.
